Who am I

My name is Karen and I'm originally from Denmark. I'm not in my late 30s anymore and haven't been for a couple of years, apparently.

In 1992 I moved to England where I stayed until 2012 (more or less: I went back to Denmark for a couple of years to do some studying but never really intended on growing old there), when I moved to Switzerland with my now husband, Paul, after a whirlwind romance.

We met in Oxford in February 2012 and after two months, he asked me if I wanted to move to Zurich with him, as the company he worked for was going to open an office there. I thought why not, as I'd never been to Switzerland before (oh, and I wanted to be with him). I managed to land a job outside of Zurich before we moved, and on 1 July 2012 we both had our first working day here.

A couple of months later, I got pregnant, and in April 2013, we did the 'I do' thing at the Registry Office in Zurich with two witnesses. We told family and friends afterwards.

The happy couple. Paul squeezed in the wedding during his lunch break. I wore jeans.

Three months after having changed status from Ms. to Mrs. as well as last name, Stefan was born.

Stefan, one day old.
Despite everything's that's happened since his birth, and what we're still going through, I'm happy to say that Stefan is the most wonderful, friendly, caring boy who brightens up our lives. I love out little family as well as our life here in Switzerland :-)
